Every year, the Destin Harbor comes alive with one of the most meaningful and historic traditions on the Emerald Coast — the annual Blessing of the Fleet. This year marks the 69th Annual Blessing of the Fleet, happening on Thursday, May 14, 2026, behind Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer on the Destin Harbor.

Hosted by Immanuel Anglican Church, this longtime Destin tradition honors the captains, crews, and vessels that make their living on the sea. For nearly seven decades, local clergy have gathered to pray for protection, safe voyages, and a successful season for the hardworking men and women of the water.

Event Schedule

  • 4:00 PM – Captain’s Testimony, Worship & Prayer Service
  • 5:15 PM – Blessing of the Vessels begins
  • Community Fish Fry follows the ceremony (donations requested)

More than 130 vessels participated last year, creating an unforgettable sight as fishing boats, charter vessels, tour boats, and working watercraft line the harbor waiting to receive their blessing.

A True Piece of “Old Destin”

Before Destin became a world-famous beach destination, it was a small fishing village built by families who depended on the Gulf for their livelihood. The Blessing of the Fleet keeps that heritage alive and gives visitors a chance to experience the heart and soul of the harbor community.

Whether you’re a local, visiting the area, or spending the week on the Emerald Coast, this is one of the best opportunities to experience the authentic spirit of “The World’s Luckiest Fishing Village.”

Bring the Family Out

This is a free, family-friendly event that welcomes everyone. Walk the harbor, enjoy the waterfront atmosphere, watch the boats pass by, and enjoy fresh seafood with the community after the blessing. The views alone make it worth attending.

Arrive early for the best viewing spots around the harbor and docks.

Join the Tradition

If you’ve never experienced the Blessing of the Fleet before, this is the year to come out and see why it remains one of Destin’s most cherished traditions.
